Konkan Trip FAQs

Everything people usually ask us before a Kokan trip: seasons, stays, food, pickup, booking and more.

Travel

What is the best time to visit Konkan?

October to March is ideal for beaches, water sports and sightseeing. April–May is mango season (hot, but worth it). June–September is the monsoon: lush and dramatic, but boat rides to sea forts and water sports are usually closed.

Where does the trip start? Do you pick up from Mumbai or Pune?

Your choice. We can pick you up in Mumbai and drop you back in Mumbai, or do the same from Pune. If you prefer the train or your own car, we meet you at the station or base town nearest the trip, like Ratnagiri station for the Ratnagiri trip or Kankavli station for Malvan, and drop you back there.

Are your Konkan trips suitable for kids and senior citizens?

Yes. We plan easy-paced days for families, avoid long treks unless you ask for them, and can choose stays with ground-floor rooms.

Booking

How much does a Konkan trip cost?

It depends on where you start, the stays you choose (and what is available on your dates), the activities you add and how many people are travelling. A couple and a group of ten get very different quotes. Share your plan and we send a clear, all-inclusive quote, usually the same day.

Can you customise a package for our group?

Absolutely. Dates, pace, stays, pickup point and add-ons like scuba, a private vehicle or a special dinner can all be adjusted. Use the plan-a-trip form, request a call back or message us on WhatsApp.

How do I book and how much advance is needed?

Request a call back or message us on WhatsApp. Once you confirm the plan and quote, a 30% advance blocks your stays; the balance is paid before the trip starts.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations 30+ days before travel get the advance back minus a small processing fee; 15–29 days: 50% of the advance; under 15 days: no refund. See our cancellation policy page for details.

Stay

What is the difference between homestay, resort and budget options?

The route and experiences are the same. A traditional homestay means a Kokani home with home-cooked food; a resort or cottage gives you more comfort and amenities; budget hotels are clean, simple rooms. We shortlist what is available for your dates.

Food

Is vegetarian food available?

Yes. Konkan is famous for seafood, but every stay we arrange serves vegetarian Kokani food too: think amboli, usal, kokum kadhi and modak.

Ratnagiri Weekend

Can we do this Ratnagiri trip from Mumbai over a weekend?

Yes. Take the Friday night train to Ratnagiri and we meet you at the station, or travel door to door with us from Mumbai. You will be in Ganpatipule by Saturday morning and back home by Sunday night.

Is Ganpatipule beach safe for swimming?

The beach has strong currents in places. We point out the safer stretch and lifeguard timings on arrival.

Malvan & Vengurla

Is scuba diving included in the Malvan Tarkarli package?

Snorkelling is included. Scuba diving is an optional add-on we book for you, depending on the dive type and season.

Where do you pick us up for the Malvan trip?

From Kankavli railway station on the Konkan Railway (about an hour from Malvan) if you come by train or your own car, or door to door from Mumbai or Pune if you travel with us.

Can the 8-day Konkan tour start from Mumbai or Pune?

Yes. Choose Mumbai to Mumbai or Pune to Pune and your trip starts and ends at your doorstep.

Can we shorten the full Konkan tour?

Yes. Popular versions are 5 days (Ratnagiri to Vengurla) and 6 days (Dapoli to Vengurla). Ask us for a custom plan.
